John has over 30 years of experience in the agri-food sector, where he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the China-Singapore Jilin Food Zone, a joint-venture project between the Jilin government and a subsidiary of Temasek. He is currently an adjunct professor with the Renmin University of China, and has authored a number of books and articles on agriculture, business development and excellence — the two more recent being Sustainable Agriculture and China New Normal.
He is a sought-after speaker on sustainability in the region, having been appointed as a panelist and keynote speaker in international conferences and seminars in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. John also holds workshops and guest lectures frequently in Indonesia and Singapore. His personal tag line is that “Excellence does not happen by accident, it is premeditated and the result of our present and relentless diligence.”
John is effectively bilingual and is an alumnae of University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and University of Leicester.
He is currently the Board Chair of a Singapore charity (IPC status) and advises listed companies on board matters and business excellence.
